The Booklatan sa CPU KDC was held last January 21-23, 2009 in cooperation with CPU Review and Continuing Education Center and in partnership with the National Book Development Board (NBDB). Booklatan is geared towards readership awareness and promotion, as well as popularization of World Bank materials. This 3-day program include series of training on readership and literacy which aimed to train storytellers and trainors who will help develop love of reading among young people as well as promotion of World Bank reading materials for young people.

There were a total seventy-seven (77) participants were mostly librarians,teachers and trainors coming from the Province of Iloilo and Negros Occidental. The CPU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nathaniel M. Fabula gave a warm welcome to the participants. The topic for the first day of training was, "Every Child a Reader and Book Lover" that talked about the nature of reading, and developing a love for reading by Dr. Elena Cutiongco, a resource speaker from NBDB. The second day of the training was the presentation of workshop output done on the first day of the seminar workshop.

The second training/ workshop was about storytelling by Mr. Manolo Silayan as resource speaker. He made the training more enjoyable by giving the participants a chance to do the storytelling. This three-day training/ workshop was ended by an awarding of certificates and closing remarks by Engr. Dimpna Castigador, CPU Development Planning Director.
